Columbia Economics Society is hosting a 2-day intensive seminar for students interested in a career in finance, including investment banking, private equity, sales and trading, equity research, asset management and other positions.

The course focuses on financial modeling and valuation of businesses. Students will build financial models in each class with Ashish Kohli, a seasoned investment banker, private equity, and accounting professional with over 20 years of transaction experience. The financial models built using Excel in class will include integrated cash flow models as well as valuation models including comparable company and discounted cash flow analysis.

Additionally, students will be provided a hard copy of the interview guide book written by the instructor (to be distributed once in-person classes are resumed) along with a chance to conduct an equity research report and participate in semester-long preparation with the instructor. Students will be able to document this training on their resumes and discuss this class in their interviews.

Normally, this seminar costs $995 and is conducted at the premises of the training firm. Students, however, are receiving an exclusive discount and will be subsidized by the Columbia Economics Society. The cost of this seminar will be $199 with seats being available on a first come, first serve basis.
